Viola Davis Bec0me 1st Black W0man To Win Best Actress At Emmys But Audience Gives Cold Reception To Historic Speech!
A few hours ago actress Viola Davis became the first wom@n of colour to win an Emmy Award for h-er role as Annalise Keating in the series “How To Get Away With Murder”
When h-er name was called out fellow nominee Taraji P. Henson who was fan favourite to win gave h-er a super tight h-ug.
And as Viola Davis gave h-er speech Taraji was the only one in the audience that gave the actress a standing ovation, while Kerry Washington got teary eyed with pride. The mostly lukewarm response of the audience to h-er outstanding speech spoke volumes about how Hollywood doesn’t like to be confronted with the truth, which Davis called them out on in h-er speech. The truth is that until recently there were very few roles for black wom-en, and the ones that existed were stereotypical “b@by mama & @ngry black wom@n” roles.
We are so happy for Viola!
