Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to carry out Legal Reforms in Lagos State
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has reannounced his commitment to carry out legal reforms in Lagos state.
He assured the people that his administration will continue to lend support to the development, enthronement and quick dispensation of justice.
Ambode, who spoke during a church service to commemorate the beginning of 2015/2016 Legal Year held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, today, said the synergy of the executive and the judiciary was key to the success of any
administration.
“I sincerely congratulate you on the beginning of another legal year. Let me say both the executive and the judiciary are partners in progress and I wish to restate my commitment to always support the judiciary,” he said.
The governor expressed appreciation to the church for continuously praying for the success of his administration, urging them not to relent as his administration would not let the people down.
The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev Dr. Adebola Ademowo, noted that Ambode was the first state governor to attend the programme commemorating the beginning of a new legal year since inception.
Referring to the governor as indefatigable, resolute, listening, God-fearing and people-oriented, the cleric urged him not to relent in his efforts to move the state forward.
Among those who attended the service were the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Funmilayo Atilade, and eminent members of the bar and bench, among others.
