Breaking News: Howard Webb Stops Blowing The Whistle

The English Premier League is losing one of its most recognized faceHoward Webb. Webb was named as the new Technical Director of Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), of which Mike Riley is the General Manager.
This promotion automatically stops Webb's activities on the pitch and that is after blowing the whistle after 25 years.
"I am very excited to start this new chapter in my career after a wonderfully rewarding 25 years on the pitch," Webb told premierleague.com.
"I have spent over a decade with the best seat in the house for Barclays Premier League matches, been lucky enough to be involved in nine UEFA and FIFA tournaments, and taken charge of the UEFA Champions League and FIFA World Cup finals."
Some club fans would be glad to see him go though it has to be said that he was one of the more charismatic referees in world football.
Webb, a Police officer started his refereeing career in 1989 and was in charge of more than 500 Barclays Premier League and Football League matches and officiated in every major domestic final.
In 2010 Webb became the first referee to take charge of the UEFA Champions League Final and the FIFA World Cup Final in the same year.
