Ekiti spends N1.6b on Ikogosi resort facilities

The Special Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Private Partnership, Mr. Segun Ologunleko, on Wednesday said the state government spent N1.6bn to improve on the facilities at the Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort.
Ologunleko told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the development of the resort was in line with the state government's eight-point transformation agenda.
He added that the fund was used to build a 91-room chalet, construct two warm swimming pools as well as 150 and 500 capacity conference halls.
According to him, other facilities provided include a 320-seat capacity amphitheatre, shopping mall, roads, restaurant and bar.
He said, "In the past, the road to the resort was bad during all seasons, the few chalets had no facilities and the pool was decrepit. Also, there was actually no life or activities of any kind at the resort. But today, the story has changed. The massive infra-structural development, has infused life into the resort.
"The facilities at the resort are of international standards that can rival any resort of this nature, anywhere in the world."
