Kidnapped Brother Of Ex-Kogi Governor Regains Freedom

The younger brother of former governor Abubakar Audu of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Audu, who was snatched from his home by unknown gunmen in Aloma in Offu Local Government Area of the state last week, has been freed.
Acting Police Commissioner Austin Evbakhavbokun, while briefing reporters in Lokoja, the state capital, said the police are hot on the heels of the suspected kidnappers.
According to him, the kidnappers initially demanded N20,000 from the family of the victim, and later demanded another N30,000 after the initial amount was paid.
Evbakhavbokun said while on the trail of the kidnappers, it was discovered that the account of one Abdullahi Mohammed was used to receive the ransom paid by the family of the victim. He added that the said Mohammed is still undergoing interrogation to ascertain his involvement.
"When the kidnappers discovered that police were unto them, they set their victim free. He has been re-united with his family," he said.
