Ekiti pledges help for community projects

Ekiti State Government said it would support any viable developmental project embarked upon by communities in the state.
State Deputy Governor, Modupe Adelabu, made the declaration at Orun-Ekiti during the presentation of the instrument and staff of office to the Oloja Orun, Oba Joseph Osalusi, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Arae of the state.
She said, "Government is willing to support in actualizing any viable developmental project embarked upon by communities."
The deputy governor urged Orun-Ekiti indigenes to join hands with their monarch for the socio-economic development of the town.
According to her, the granting of autonomous status to towns and villages by the state government was not an attempt to create divisions among communities that hitherto, lived together harmoniously.
She said, "It must be noted with emphasis that granting of autonomy to any community is not an attempt to disintegrate a hitherto, compact community for any ulterior motive of political gains.
"It is a response to the genuine demand of a people who thought their deserved recognition would enhance their development in all facets of life," she added.
